Godwin’s Law to be introduced in England & Wales

The Government has announced plans to introduce Godwin’s Law, under which whoever mentions Hitler first in an argument is deemed to have lost, across England & Wales after successful trials in three counties.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw, announcing the plan, said that tougher measures were needed to protect the public from morons who ruin every conversation by banging on about the Nazis at the drop of a hat. ‘We saw this very publicly last week when Tony Blair popped up at the Chilcot Inquiry and started likening Saddam to Hitler,’ Straw said, ‘but any idiot knows they were nothing alike, apart from the moustaches. Oh, and the WMDs, of course.’

The move was denounced by human rights campaigner Shami Chakrabarti as ‘worse than Stalin’.
